Jewish Film Festival and More at the Barrymore Film Center Programming for Families, Seniors, Special Needs Audiences, and Film Enthusiasts

[Fort Lee, NJ - 06.03.2025] – The Barrymore Film Center’s lineup of ongoing and limited series continues this month with ELIE WIESEL: SOUL ON FIRE (part of Jewish Film Festival) , SAFETY LAST! (part of Silent Classics), and PARIS IS BURNING (part of Celebrating Pride Month). The Center’s expanded slate of dedicated programming has something for everyone, including family-friendly screenings, classic films, cult favorites, and sensory-friendly experiences.
Film series at the Barrymore Film Center include:
Jewish Film Festival (June 4-11) - Sponsored by Longtime Residents of Fort Lee and Founding BFC Board Members Edwin and Doris Cohen. A collection of films made by Jewish filmmakers, curated by BFC programmer, David Schwartz, complete with in-person and video interviews with directors/writers from some of the chosen films.
Family Film Series (Saturdays at 10am) – Storytime with the Fort Lee Public Library, screen-and-sing musicals, Saturday morning cartoons, and more.
Coffee & Classics (First Wednesday of each month at 10am) – Classic films paired with complimentary coffee and pastries.
Sensory-Friendly Screenings (Second Wednesday of each month at 10am) – A relaxed movie experience with adjusted sound and lighting, designed for all ages and sensory sensitivities.
Cult Classics & Silent Classics (Monthly) – A chance to experience iconic cult films and timeless silent masterpieces.
Scandinavian Film Series (Running throughout the month of June) - Sponsored by Armand Pohan and Nancy Rieger. A collection of Scandinavian films in honor of Nordic Heritage Month.
Celebrating Jane Austen (Running throughout the month of June) - Celebrating 250 years of Jane Austen through the film adaptations of her novels.
Celebrating Pride Month (Running throughout the month of June) - A collection of films celebrating the LGBTQ+ communities.
Celebrating Luis Buñuel (Running throughout the month of June) - A celebration of the films of Luis Buñuel.
