HACKENSACK – Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco and the Bergen County Board of Commissioners, alongside Open Space Trust Fund Executive Director Ken Aloisio, proudly presented a $234,524 check to the Borough of Maywood for significant improvements to Memorial Park, specifically for the reconstruction of the park’s walking path with pavers and upgraded drainage systems.
The funding, awarded through the Bergen County Open Space Trust Fund, will support infrastructure improvements that enhance both the accessibility and long-term sustainability of this vital community space.
“This is what the Bergen County Open Space Trust Fund is all about—partnering with our towns to make smart investments in local parks and open space,” said Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco. “Memorial Park is a gathering place for the Maywood community, and these improvements will help ensure it remains safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for residents of all ages. I’m proud that Bergen County is once again delivering real results that improve quality of life.”
“Safe, accessible, and well-maintained parks are essential to a community’s quality of life,” said Commissioner Germaine Ortiz. “We’re proud to support this investment in Memorial Park that will benefit walkers, joggers, and families for years to come.”
Maywood Mayor Richard Bolan and members of the local governing body were present to accept the check and express their gratitude for the County’s continued support.
