Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey Announces Head of DreamLab Operations Prior to Spring Opening

PARAMUS, NEW JERSEY (Jan. 20, 2026) – Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey (GSNNJ), the premier leadership development program for girls, is excited to announce Melissa Sullivan as the new Head of DreamLab Operations prior to the spring 2026 opening of its Girl Scout DreamLab facility at 300 Forest Ave. in Paramus, N.J.

Melissa Sullivan
The Girl Scout DreamLab will be an engaging space dedicated to fostering leadership, encouraging curiosity, and embracing innovation, not just for girls, but for the community-at-large. It promises to be a hub for sisterhood and a place where Girl Scouts and others can connect in the community, as well as a place to build confidence and shape passions and dreams.

At the Girl Scout DreamLab, there will be a full range of activities that will appeal to a variety of interests, including scientific experimentation, engineering, podcasting, theatrical production, and creative arts.

Ms. Sullivan will lead the daily operations of the dynamic Girl Scout DreamLab space, building community connections, driving membership growth, and innovating program offerings to ensure an exceptional and engaging visitor experience for Girl Scout members and others.

"I'm excited to welcome Melissa Sullivan to our team as our Girl Scout DreamLab comes to life and begins to transform how we deliver programming and experiences for Girl Scouts, while deepening sisterhood and community connection," said Sandra A. Kenoff, President/CEO of Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey.

Girl Scouting has been an integral part of Ms. Sullivan’s personal and professional life, from her beginnings as a Girl Scout Daisy through her work towards becoming a Gold Award Girl Scout. She also spent 10 years as a staff member of Girl Scouts of Greater New York council, where she worked across the program, membership, and volunteer departments.

Ms. Sullivan looks forward to using those years of experience to launch the GSNNJ Girl Scout DreamLab not only as a space for Girl Scouts, but as a hub for sisterhood and community. She envisions the day when it will be buzzing with Girl Scouts using the space to its full potential with activities such as recording in the podcast room, building robots for a competition, trying experiments in the STEM lab area, practicing public speaking in the theater space, or shopping for uniforms and patches in the retail shop.

Ms. Sullivan is also eager to welcome non-Girl Scout community members to the space for group activities, including during school hours, and welcomes all inquiries about possible collaborations. She can be reached at msullivan@gsnnj.org or (973) 248-8200.

“That kind of energy, where every corner of the Girl Scout DreamLab is meeting different needs at the same time, is what excites me most,” said Ms. Sullivan. “It represents a space that could truly serve our community and reflects the full breadth of what the Girl Scout experience can be,” she added.
