New Trustees Join Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation and Affiliates
Edison, NJ – January 26, 2026 – Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation, the philanthropic division of Hackensack Meridian Health, a leading not-for-profit health care organization that is the largest, most comprehensive and truly integrated health care network in New Jersey, announces the addition of new trustees to its affiliated boards of trustees.
The new additions are as follows:
Hackensack Meridian Hackensack University Medical Center welcomes Anthony “Tony” Labozzetta, president and CEO of Provident and Provident Bank.
Hackensack Meridian Ocean University Medical Center Foundation welcomes Charles “Chuck” Benz Jr., who retired from GE Healthcare as senior director/financial close leader in 2018.
And Hackensack Meridian Palisades Medical Center welcomes four new trustees:
Ronald E. Alfaro, vice president, Commercial and Investment Bank - JP Morgan Chase.
Jeffrey “Jeff” Martinez, executive vice president and head of Branch Banking, PNC Bank.
Daniel Pontecorvo, director of Global Real Estate, Jane Street Financial.
Jeff Welz, director of Public Safety - Weehawken.
“Now more than ever, the need for private philanthropy to help us transform patient care is necessary, and we are thrilled to have these six individuals step up to help us improve care for their respective communities,” says Joyce P. Hendricks, president and chief development officer of Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation, which oversees the affiliated hospital foundations. “It’s a team effort, and we know that their unique skills and experience will be a great benefit to the hospitals they will serve.”
Each of these new trustees will work alongside existing board members at their hospital foundations to contribute to key fundraising priorities. All funds raised at each site remains local to that hospital, while also contributing to Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation’s “Be The Difference” campaign, a bold initiative aimed at raising $1 billion to revolutionize health care. With currently close to $800 million raised for the campaign, community support will help the organization impact change for four key areas: patient care, advanced research, medical education and access to care for all.
