Education for All Ages at Bergen this Summer and Fall

PARAMUS, N.J – Registration for Bergen Community College’s summer and fall semesters has opened online for new and continuing students with in-person registration beginning April 8. Bergen has also opened registration for its popular Kids and Teens Summer Learning Academy through its Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development.

For students seeking to earn credits in pursuit of a certificate or degree, Bergen offers numerous options through multiple start dates, online courses and day- and evening courses. The summer schedule - ideal for students home from four-year institutions and those seeking to accelerate their graduation - begins on May 18, with other sessions starting on July 1 and August 12. Students from other colleges seeking to enroll at Bergen for summer classes should visit Bergen.edu/visiting. Fall classes begin September 2, with additional sessions beginning on September 23 and October 26. Visit Bergen.edu for online registration; in-person registration will take place at the College’s three locations in Paramus (400 Paramus Road), Hackensack (355 Main Street) and Lyndhurst (1280 Wall Street West).

Prospective students should consider filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Applying for financial aid helps students unlock additional tuition assistance programs that can even make Bergen tuition-free. By filing a FAFSA, students become eligible for many of the programs, including the state’s Community College Opportunity Grant, which provides a tuition-free Bergen experience for many students.

Meanwhile, kids and teens classes begin on June 29 and continue through August 7 with all sessions taking place at the College’s Paramus main campus at 400 Paramus Road. Offerings include single day, full-week, morning- and afternoon-only and full-day sessions on topics such as entrepreneurship, law and avionics. Parents can also enroll their children in optional before- and after-care programs as part of the summer program. Register at Bergen.edu/k12.

Based in Paramus, Bergen Community College (www.bergen.edu), a public two-year coeducational college, enrolls more than 13,000 students at locations in Paramus, the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst. The College offers associate degree, certificate and continuing education programs in a variety of fields. More students graduate from Bergen than any other community college in the state.
