St. Joseph's Health Now Offers Pluvicto For Patients with Advanced Prostate Cancer

FDA-approved radioligand therapy expands comprehensive cancer care at St. Joseph's Health

Paterson, NJ, August 7, 2026 – St. Joseph’s Health is now offering Pluvicto?, an FDA-approved, first-in-class radioligand therapy for patients with PSMA-positive metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), which continues progressing despite hormone therapy. Pluvicto is currently available exclusively at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson.

“Pluvicto represents a fundamental shift in how we treat advanced prostate cancer,” said Adnan Danish, MD, Division Chief of Radiation Oncology at St. Joseph’s Health. “Rather than aiming radiation at the body from outside, we can now deliver it directly to cancer cells wherever they have spread. Bringing this technology to St. Joseph’s places us among a select group of programs offering this level of precision, giving patients who’ve exhausted conventional options a new path forward.”

Pluvicto pairs a targeting molecule engineered to seek out prostate-specific membrane antigen, or PSMA, a protein expressed on prostate cancer cells, with a radioactive isotope that delivers therapeutic radiation directly to the tumor. Given intravenously every six weeks for up to six cycles, this molecular approach reaches cancer cells throughout the body with a precision conventional radiation cannot match, while sparing healthy tissue.

Patients interested in Pluvicto should start by talking with their urologist or oncologist, who can help determine whether they are a candidate. Patients are also welcome to call St. Joseph’s Radiation Oncology team directly at 973-754-2675 with any questions.
