Bergen County’s Ramsey High School Raises Over $6,000 Through Mazda Be Moved Drive Program
Community test drives support hands-on automotive education as school celebrates the grand opening of its RAM Center
RAMSEY, NJ - Ramsey High School raised over $6,000 to support its RAM Center auto program through a Mazda Be Moved Drive event held on Friday, October 2. Hosted by Ramsey Mazda, the event brought community members to the school for test drives, and to celebrate the grand opening of the RAM (Robotics, Auto, and Makerspace) Center.
The event generated 137 test drives, resulting in a total donation of $6,850. These funds will provide tools, equipment, and resources for hands-on automotive education, helping students build practical skills and gain real-world experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
“It is an honor to welcome the Mazda team and members of our community to Ramsey High School for the Mazda Be Moved event and the grand opening of Ramsey’s RAM Center,” said Dr. Andrew C. Matteo, Superintendent, Ramsey School District.
“Events such as this underscore how essential the RAM Center is as a collaborative center for real-world learning, equipping our students to become resilient, responsible, and ready for tomorrow. We extend our sincere gratitude to Mazda and our local community partners for working alongside us to build impactful connections and inspire our students toward excellence.”
Through the Mazda Be Moved Drive Program, Mazda donates $50 to the participating school for every qualifying test drive, up to $10,000 per event. This is the program’s second year in New Jersey, starting with Lakewood High School in 2025. Later this month, the Be Moved Drive Program will come to Brick Township High School on October 20th, hosted by Pine Belt Mazda.
Mazda is committed to uplifting communities and inspiring people to do more of what moves them. Through the Be Moved Drive Program, Mazda supports local schools one test drive at a time. Donations generated through participating events help schools provide learning opportunities, equipment, and resources for students.
