Valley Health System CEO Receives New Jersey Hospital Association Lifetime Achievement Award

PARAMUS, NJ, June 3, 2024 – Valley Health System is proud to announce that Audrey Meyers, Chief Executive Officer of Valley Health System, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA), in recognition of her 44 years of service to Valley.

According to NJHA, the Lifetime Achievement Award, “recognizes the long-term contributions of an NJHA member who has demonstrated exemplary leadership, commitment, and integrity through a career dedicated to improving the health of the people of New Jersey.”

This recognition is fitting for the extraordinary impact Meyers has had on healthcare in New Jersey for more than four decades. As Chief Executive Officer, Meyers has ushered in an era of remarkable transformation at Valley, introducing new healthcare services; forming strategic clinical partnerships with renowned organizations, such as the Mount Sinai Health System and Cleveland Clinic Heart, Vascular and Thoracic Institute; and recruiting skilled clinicians who deliver advanced healthcare to our community.

“I have the pleasure of working for Audrey and have come to know her as a visionary leader, a trailblazer dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of New Jersey residents, and a passionately committed mentor to the next generation of healthcare leaders,” said Robert Brenner, MD, MMM, FACHE, President of Valley Health System.

Meyers is also recognized for her leadership in relocating The Valley Hospital from its 73-year-old home in Ridgewood, New Jersey to a new, nearly one-million-square-foot, technologically advanced, 385-bed “smart” hospital in Paramus, New Jersey. The relocation took place on Sunday, April 14, 2024. This monumental task, many years in the making, was a testament to Meyers’ unwavering vision to bring the very best in healthcare to our community.

“It is an honor to receive this distinguished award from the NJHA,” said Meyers. “I am proud of Valley’s growth over the past few decades. That is due to our always asking, ‘What can we do better?’ and ‘What can we do next?’ With an eye on the future of healthcare, Valley will continue to provide high-quality care to those in northern New Jersey and southern New York for generations to come.”

Meyers will be recognized, along with recipients in other categories, at NJHA’s annual “Best at the Beach” celebration in July. This celebration honors individuals and organizations across New Jersey that build healthcare in the state. Awards are based on nominations from members and a peer-judging process. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, July 11, at Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch, New Jersey.
