DR. CHRISTINA DUKES BROWN APPOINTED CEO OF BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF PATERSON AND PASSAIC


Paterson & Passaic, NJ – Dr. Christina Dukes Brown has been appointed CEO of Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic (BGCPP), one of the largest Clubs in New Jersey serving more than 1,700 youth at two Clubhouses and 11 satellite locations throughout Paterson and Passaic. With more than 20 years of educational leadership experience, Dr. Brown comes to the Club from New Heights Academy Charter School in NYC where she served as Executive Director.

Growing up Dr. Brown learned firsthand the value of Boys & Girls Clubs as she attended the Jersey City Club, which gave her a deep experience that will inform her new leadership role. She knows the impact Boys & Girls Clubs have on young people and the community and understands the critical role she will play in supporting youth, families, and schools. Her experience in partnership building, resource development, nonprofit leadership and strategic planning will keep the organization focused on its mission to inspire and enable all young people to reach their full potential.

In addition to her most recent role as Executive Director at New Heights Academy Charter School in NYC, Dr. Brown’s career highlights include President of the Board of Trustees at Hyde Leadership Charter School in Brooklyn; Executive Director of Bronx Charter School for the Arts and Education Committee Chair; and various leadership roles at Hyde Leadership Public Charter School in Washington, D.C., where she began her career as an Assistant Teacher and held key leadership positions including High School Principal and Director of the College Placement Office and Performing Arts Program.

She earned her Doctor of Education (EdD) in Leadership, Management, and Policy in 2023 from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. She also completed a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration in 2007 from George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and a Master of Public Administration in Government Management in 2002 from Southeastern University, Washington, D.C. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, from Virginia State University, Petersburg, VA.
