New 62-Unit Building Rising Near Short Hills Train Station


SHORT HILLS, NJ – The Silverman Group, a nationally recognized real estate owner, investor, developer, and manager based in Basking Ridge, NJ, today announced that construction is underway on a boutique 62-unit luxury rental community near the Short Hills train station.

Designed by Michels & Waldron Associates, with construction by Silver Line Development, the four-story building will feature 10 one-bedroom, 49 two-bedroom, and three three-bedroom residences. Initial occupancy is slated for early 2027. The medical office component can be subdivided into two units, while the underground garage will provide dedicated floors for patient and staff parking.

Residences at The Estates at Short Hills will be finished to a high standard, with gas burner stoves, shaker-style cabinetry, quartz countertops, and stainless steel appliances in each kitchen. Additional features include LED lighting, luxury vinyl plank flooring in living areas, plush bedroom carpeting, ceramic tile bathrooms with quartz countertops, comfort-height toilets, and in-home washers and dryers. All homes will include individually metered utilities and a dedicated HVAC unit.

Residents will enjoy a curated amenity collection highlighted by a rooftop terrace, outdoor courtyard, fitness center, resident lounge and game room, package and mail rooms, and garage bike storage.

Short Hills is a census-designated place within Millburn Township. Millburn is home to a thriving downtown, world-class shopping at The Mall at Short Hills, and cultural gems like the Paper Mill Playhouse. The South Mountain Reservation is located within the township and offers hiking trails, picnic areas, lakes and ponds, children’s playgrounds and a dog park, among many other forms of outdoor recreation. There are also sports fields, golf courses, country clubs, the Turtle Back Zoo, the Reeves-Reed Arboretum and downtown Summit, all located within a five-to-ten-minute drive from the township.

The Estates at Short Hills is located 25 miles from Manhattan, 12 miles from both Newark Liberty International Airport and downtown Morristown. Glenwood Elementary is less than half a mile away, while Millburn Middle and High Schools are just over a mile from the site. Regional access is easy via Route 24, Route 78, and the Morris Turnpike.
