Jazz Guitar Greats to Perform at West Side Presbyterian Church


RIDGEWOOD—Jazz guitar greats Joel Kipnis (known simply as JK in the music industry) and Mark Whitfield and their band will fill the sanctuary at West Side Presbyterian Church with cool jazz sounds on Sunday, November 19 at 3:00 pm as part of the 48th season of the West Side Concert Series.

VETERANS & MILITARY PERSONNEL RIDE FREE ON NY WATERWAY FERRIES THIS VETERANS DAY, SATURDAY NOVEMBER 11


NY Waterway will provide free ferry rides for all active-duty military personnel and military veterans on Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11, 2023. Veterans and service members just need to present a valid Veteran or Military ID. Free NY Waterway shuttles from the Midtown West 39th Street ferry terminal will take riders to destinations across Midtown, including to the Veterans Day Parade on Saturday.

Center for Hope & Safety Receives Grant from Becton Dickinson to Fund Safe House Emergency Shelter Program for Domestic Violence Survivors


Rochelle Park, N.J. (November 7, 2023) – Center for Hope & Safety (CHS), Bergen County’s only not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping adults and children rebuild their lives beyond domestic violence and abuse, announces it has received a grant for $35,000 from BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company). The grant will help fund operation costs for CHS’ Safe House.

CarePlus NJ Awarded $8M in Federal Grant Funding to Transform Bergen and Essex County Community Behavioral Health Systems, Address Disparities and Increase Access to Integrated Care


Expands Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic services for LGBTQ+, Black, Hispanic, and low-income populations
Paramus, N.J. (November 8, 2023) – Care Plus NJ, Inc. (“CarePlus NJ”), a pioneer in integrated primary and behavioral health services for adults and children, announced it has been awarded two federal grants over 4 years from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) totaling $8M, to enhance its Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) services in Bergen County as well as expand the program to establish CCBHC services in Essex County.
